Best AI Girlfriend App (2026): 13 Companions Tested on Phone and Web

Candy AI is the companion most people try first, and the reason is visual. You build a girlfriend from a detailed creator or pick one of more than a hundred ready-made characters. Then she sends selfies, voice notes and short Live Action clips that keep the same face from one picture to the next. In fact, in our tests no other companion held a character’s look as well.

OurDream AI is the voice-first rival. Its calls sound the most human in the category, with pauses and emotion that carry a conversation. In addition, its memory keeps a storyline going across sessions. Images, on the other hand, are decent, though not at Candy’s level. We compared the two point by point in OurDream vs Candy AI.

The catch, though, is the free tier, which is strictly SFW and gives only a small batch of coins, so you cannot judge the real product before paying. It is also web-only, with no store app yet.

Nomi AI is the companion people pick when memory matters more than pictures. First of all, it keeps track of your life across months, remembers the small things you mentioned once, and can join group chats with several companions. Besides that, it sends selfies and art, and it talks back with a voice.

Moreover, Nomi is a real store app on the iPhone, and it also runs in the browser. The free tier caps each message at 400 characters, while paid plans double that. In the App Store, paid plans start at $9.99 a month, and a yearly plan works out to about $5 a month, according to its App Store listing.

Replika started the category and still has the widest reach, with native apps on iOS and Android and a 3D avatar you can dress and call. Plain chat, meanwhile, is free forever. The romantic partner mode, voice calls, AR and romantic selfies sit behind Replika Pro.

Overall, it is a gentle, SFW-leaning companion rather than an adult platform, which makes it the safest choice on this list. Replika shows prices only inside the app. The App Store lists subscriptions from $7.99 a month and $49.99 a year, with a Platinum tier above that. Replika explains the tiers in its help center.

Kindroid is the most realistic of the store apps. Your companion can take voice and video calls, send selfies and join group chats, and the model is unfiltered, so roleplay can go further than on Replika or Nomi. It also has native apps on iOS and Android.

One change to know about: from October 1, 2026, the free plan becomes a one-time preview of 50 replies, after which the account turns read-only until you subscribe, as the Kindroid update log explains. Standard costs $13.99 a month on the web, or about $11.67 a month on a yearly plan, and a little more in the apps.

CrushOn AI is where you go for conversation over pictures. It hosts a huge library of community-made characters and lets you switch between models, including Claude and GPT class models on paid plans. As a result, the replies read more like a story than a script. The free models never run out, which makes it the most generous free AI girlfriend chat on this list.

Instead, the limits sit elsewhere. Free memory is capped at 8K, history can be deleted after a week of inactivity, and premium models burn Message Credits. Our CrushOn AI review has the full credit ladder.

JOI AI adapts to the way you write, so a girlfriend you talk to every day starts to answer in your rhythm. On top of that, customization is deep and unfiltered, and every paid plan includes 1,500 coins a month for up to 350 images or 100 videos.

Muah AI is built around the phone call. Your AI girlfriend can ring you like a real person, trade photos and send voice messages, with no content filter. Currently it runs in the browser, and Android users can download an APK from the official site. Its App Store and Google Play listings are gone as of September 2026, so ignore store links that still point to them.

Two cautions, however. First, the calls need the higher Ultra VIP tier, and Muah suffered a data breach in 2024, which our Muah AI review covers before you share anything personal.

DreamGF is built around the creator. You shape your girlfriend’s look, personality and scenarios in detail, then chat, trade unblurred images and take voice calls. It feels, as a result, more like an AI girlfriend simulator than a social app, which is exactly the appeal.

Note that it is a web app, and the DreamGF listings you may find in the App Store are not linked from the official site, so we treat them as unofficial. The first subscription runs at $12.99 a month or $5.99 a month on a yearly plan, both shown as promo prices.

GirlfriendGPT (you will also see it as GPTGirlfriend) is a community platform. Thousands of creators publish their own girlfriend characters, which you can browse by style, chat with and remix. On paid plans it also adds voice messages and image generation.

There is no store app, so you install it from the browser, and Android users can also download an APK from the official site. The site FAQ lists a Basic plan at $5 a month, but the live plans page needs a login, so check the current price after you sign up.

Kupid AI leans into video. Its home screen is a Reels feed of short clips from its companions, and a tap takes you from a clip into a private chat with photos, videos, voice messages and calls. For that reason it feels closer to a social app than to a chatbot.

Unfortunately, the free tier is small: 15 messages, no photos and one custom companion. Pro is sold weekly at $12.99, so the yearly plan at $179 (about $3.44 a week) is the one that makes sense. There is no store app, only a browser install.

Kales AI has one of the most useful free plans here. You get up to 100 coins a day, which covers about ten messages and one or two images, and adult content is allowed even without paying. The trade-off, however, is that the free plan has no memory.

In 2026, however, Kales dropped its cheaper Standard plan, so Pro is now the only paid tier at $14.99 a month or $10.50 a month billed yearly, with unlimited messages, permanent memory and 10,000 Gems for images and video. It runs in any browser and installs as a web app.

aiAllure is the premium pick for memory and detail. Its character creator coordinates seventeen traits, from voice to backstory, and the companion builds on what you told her instead of resetting each session. The web version includes images, video and Live Rooms calls, while the aiAllure apps in the App Store and Google Play are a separate SFW product.

So if you mainly want a long relationship with one character and do not mind paying for it, aiAllure is worth a look. Starter costs 19.90 a month in your local currency, or 9.90 a month on a yearly plan. Our aiAllure review covers the rest.
