The site has grown well beyond two tools. Today the menu also lists a paraphraser, an essay writer, a plagiarism checker and an image detector. Furthermore, there is a Chrome extension and an API.

The homepage says more than 24 million people use the service. That figure comes from the company itself, so read it as marketing.

Marketers and bloggers are the core audience. They often draft with a chatbot and then need copy that sounds less stiff. Because plans are sold by the word, steady monthly volume suits them best.

Meanwhile, writers who get wrongly flagged also use it. Detectors tend to mark tidy, formal prose, and non-native English writers feel that most.

However, it is a poor fit for students who hope to hand in machine text as their own. No score protects a grade, and most schools treat that as misconduct anyway.

How does it work in daily use? You paste text, press Check for AI or Humanize, and wait a few seconds. Three parts of the product do most of the work.

The Undetectable AI humanizer sits on the homepage. The box there shows a limit of 5,000 words. In addition, you can upload a file or load a sample from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Before a rewrite, you pick a reading level, such as high school, university or journalist. Next, you pick a purpose. The visible options are general writing, essay, article, marketing material and story.

The page also draws a line between two models. According to the site, the free version uses a basic model that “may be flagged by detectors”. Meanwhile, the trial and the paid plans unlock the stronger one.

Finally, the company says its tools support more than 50 languages. English gets the highest accuracy.

The Undetectable AI detector accepts up to 10,000 words per check. According to its page, it looks for text from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and other models.

Every paid plan lists unlimited AI detecting. As a result, the detector is the easiest part to try before you spend anything.

The site also carries a banner that reads “Rated #1 Best AI Detector by Forbes”. However, rival GPTZero says it could not find the product in the Forbes ranking it checked. So treat the banner as a claim.

The Undetectable AI Human Auto Typer is a Chrome extension. It types pasted text into Google Docs one character at a time, with pauses and typos. Consequently, the revision history looks typed instead of pasted.

Every paid plan includes unlimited use of it. Still, be careful here. If a school or client checks how a document was written, using it to hide a paste can break their rules.

In addition, a second Chrome extension brings the detector and humanizer to other sites. Developers get an API, and all plans are marked as API compatible.

Does Undetectable AI work? That depends on who runs the test. The published results sit unusually far apart.

First, the favorable one. A July 2026 benchmark from an anonymous Substack newsletter ran 20 AI texts through several humanizers. For this tool it reported an average AI score of 4.9% on Originality.ai, 12.3% on GPTZero and 16.1% on ZeroGPT.

Next, the harsh one. In August 2026, Originality.ai ran one ChatGPT article through the humanizer. Its own detector scored the result 100% likely AI, the same as the original. In that test GPTZero moved only from 100% to 91%.

Both sources deserve caution. The newsletter names no author. Meanwhile, Originality.ai sells a competing detector and used a single sample.

Research explains part of the swing. A 2025 paper studied 19 humanizer and paraphrasing tools and built a detector trained to catch humanized text. In other words, detectors adapt. For that reason, this Undetectable AI review treats every low score as temporary.

Quality is the weaker side. In the newsletter benchmark, the rewritten texts grew by about 79% in length. That was the largest jump in the group, so expect to trim. In addition, GPTZero noted that the rewrite removes all formatting.

Is Undetectable AI legit? Yes, in the plain sense. A registered US company runs it, real plans exist and the product does what the page describes.

The harder question is trust around billing. On October 9, 2026, Trustpilot showed a score of 3.5 out of 5 from 995 reviews. Half were five stars, yet 41% were one star. Most complaints mention unexpected charges and slow cancellation.

What the Refund Terms Say

For this Undetectable AI review, the terms of use were read in full. The pricing page promises a money-back guarantee if output is flagged as not human. However, the terms are narrower. They state that refunds are not provided unless the law requires them.

The one exception is a refund of credits. For that, a submission must provably score below 75% human on a reputable detector. In addition, you must ask within 30 days.

How to Cancel an Undetectable AI Subscription

According to the terms, residents of California and New York can cancel in the account dashboard. Everyone else must email support@undetectable.ai from the address on the account.

Furthermore, a cancellation ends your access to any remaining words at once. A chargeback does not count as a cancellation either. So send the email before the renewal date and keep a copy.

Privacy is thin on detail. The privacy policy was last updated in March 2023 and does not say how long pasted text is kept. Therefore keep confidential documents out of the box.

WriteHuman posted the most even results in the July 2026 benchmark: 15.4% on GPTZero, 14.9% on ZeroGPT and 24.5% on Originality.ai. It also added only about 9% to the word count.
